FINAL: 2014 Hawaii Surfing Championship

The third and final leg of the 2014 noRep Boardshorts Hawaii Surfing Championship took place at Sandy Beach, Oahu this past weekend. Conditions could have not been better to wrap up a great series - light off shore winds, SSW Swell and 6 foot waves made for an epic contest.

Top surfers from Hawaii battled for the First Place and the Overall Championship.
Kekoa Cazimero claimed his home break and took First Place which led into wining the whole Hawaii Surfing Championship.

Results for the Shortboard Division are:
Kekoa Cazimero (1st Place)
Seth Moniz (2nd Place)
Edrick Baldwin (3rd Place)
Dustin Cuizon (4th Place)

Kai Sallas won his fifth event in a row, including the first two noRep Boardshorts Hawaii Surfing Championship events and became the Champion for the Longboard Division. In Second Place is Nelson Ahina, who is making sure Kai's place will be well covered and Hawaii's Longboard Surfing will remain top level in the future.
Finalists for the Toes on The Nose Longboard are:
Kai Sallas (1st Place)
Nelson Ahina (2nd Place)
Tony Moniz (3rd Place)
Edrick Baldwin (4th Place)

Edrick Baldwin did a remarkable job making both Longboard and Shortboard finals.

To top off an incredible series of events came late Sunday after the Champions were crowned where reggae band Most High played a full live set at Sandy Beach!

Huge Mahalo to our sponsors:
noRep Boardshorts, Toes on the Nose, Surf Garage, Rainbow Drive-in, Kai Sallas Pro Surf School, Surf News Network, Free Candy Productions, Surfing the Nations and JMC Surfboards.

Overall prizes included two custom made surfboards shaped by Jota Muñoz of JMC Surfboards with artwork by Drew Toonz and Danny Castillo. Local boy Dustin Fernandez also provided the trophies for the finalists - some sick art drawn live during each competition.

Judging Panel included Makani Mcdonald, Kristian Mcdonald, Carlitos di Pace, Noa Terada-Pagdilao and Turk "The Hurricane" Cazimero on the mic. We could have not held the contest with out them!

We'll be back in 2015 with another amazing series designed specifically for Hawaii's best surfers. See you next year!
